Determination

Determination of your Joint Implementation (JI) project is a validation of the project design documentation. This assessment is mandatory if the host country has not established a GHG inventory and reporting procedures in accordance with the Kyoto Protocol.

During the determination of your JI project, we will analyse the project design documentation (PDD). This includes:

  • Project design. General project information, technical features of the project, project implementation plan, sustainable development indicators, and timeframes.

  • Baseline study. A study of factors used for estimating expected emissions without the project (the baseline emissions).

  • Monitoring and verification plans. Description of frequency, responsibilities and methods you have for monitoring, measurements, and calculations of your GHG emission, including a verification schedule.

We collaborate with both host and investor during the validation, which may include interviews with project participants and stakeholders.

Where do I go from here?
Proceed to verification of the emissions reductions/removals and compliance with criteria defined in the Kyoto Protocol. Verification of an independent third party is mandatory if host country does not meet certain methodology and reporting requirements.
