Morocco’s sports betting operator is Africa’s first World Lottery Association (WLA) member to achieve certification to the WLA Security Control Standards©, the WLA’s global security management baseline.
During August and September, DNV has conducted a full audit of the betting operator’s security and risk management processes.
The betting operator was also certified according to BS 7799-2. These two standards cover many of the same areas, but while the BS standard applies to information security management in general, the WLA standard has been created especially for the lottery business.
DNV Certification is one of two official certification bodies appointed by the WLA.
“This was the sixth lottery we have certified, and the first one in Africa,” says DNV Certification’s lead auditor Elin Lunde Haaland.
WLA conference in Durban
A WLA conference is due to be held in Durban, South Africa, in November at which Lunde Haaland will represent DNV at its information stand.
