Section for Propulsion and Machinery is a part of DNV Maritime, Approval Center Norway with primary competence within machinery components and systems for the maritime and offshore industry.

The Machinery services covers:

• Newbuilding Plan Approval: Approval of machinery components and machinery systems according to DNV Machinery Rules, Classifiction Notes and related Instructions to Surveyors.

• Ships In Operation: Approval of machinery components and systems for Ships In Operation according to DNV Machinery Rules, Classifiction Notes and related Instructions to Surveyors.

• CMC - Certification of Material and Components: Type Approval and Design Approval of machinery components according to DNV Rules.

• IMO/Marpol Annex VI, Regulation 13 and the NOx technical code: NOx certification of marine diesel engines.

• EU Marine Equipment Directive (MED): Conformity assessment of life-/ rescue boat propulsion engines.
