Corrosion of steel and other metals as well as performance of elastomers are important in transporting the dense phase CO2 to geologic storage sites. Impurities in the exhaust gases from power plants can affect the corrosion of steel. At present, there is very little data to develop corrosion models under these conditions. DNVR&I and DNV energy are working together to develop corrosion data and models in dense phase CO2 containing various impurities.
