The Korea Shipbuilders’ Association – KOSHIPA – stated a preference for DNV’s Nauticus Hull software in its review of the IACS common structural rules now being developed for tankers.

The comments from the Korea Shipbuilders’ Association indicates that DNV is taking the lead in providing software in support of the current IACS (International Association of Classification Societies) common structural rules effort.

“The schedule for rules review is tight and puts great demand on the yard’s design offices for review. This requires also DNV to provide the software tools that are needed and in good time before the rules are official and enter into force,” says Elling Rishoff, managing director of DNV Software.
