This course provides participants with the fundamental concepts, tools and techniques for effective safety and sustainability management.

Course description
MSM 2nd edition: Building Risk Competence is an updated version of the Modern Safety Management (MSM) course. Established in 2007, MSM2 includes the latest risk management concepts and techniques needed to implement an integrated health, safety, security, environmental and quality management system. MSM2 provides participants with practical and proactive management techniques to ensure safe and sustainable operations.
This course is recommended for Front line Supervisors, Middle Managers, HSEQ Managers, and other managers who have management system responsibilities. MSM2 is a foundation course to support users of ISRS 7th and 8th Editions. MSM is available in multiple languages including English, French, Italian, Portuguese and Polish.
Learning objective
On completion of MSM2 the participant will:
- Understand the processes and activities that have proven effective in managing risks and ensuring safe and sustainable operations
- Be able to apply fundamental concepts and tools to design and implement an effective risk management system
- Be able to apply practical tools for risk identification, evaluation and control
- Know how to apply behaviour management techniques
